This is an old Bavarian tradition when a Father gets a "Bix'n". OK, I think I need to explain more for the non-bavarians. We call women, and sometimes in particular nasty women a "Bix'n", but in a sweet manner. And  Bix'n is the bavarian name for "Büchse" which is translated a "metal can". And therefore when a father gets a so called Bix'n then we call the home a "Büchsenmacherei", meaning a "can producer". The tradition is that the relatives put up a sign and hanging cans in front of the home before the family gets home with the new-born. Sometimes people had gone really mad and put up very big signs, like it has happened for Barbaras father, because they have written it on the street with very resistent colours where it took years until  it dissappeared. See how mad the bavarians can be ;)) In our case I did it because nobody made the trip from Bavaria to Malmö to put it up, but the tradition has to go on.

Am 31. Oktober um 10:55 ist die kleine Caterina auf die Welt gekommen.
